They have seen Apple's PowerBooks and they are good.
According to benchmarks from barefeats, the new PowerBooks are beating the old ones in performance, despite the removal of the Level 3 cache.
I won't go into everything, but the new video chip (ATI Radeon 9600) makes a huge difference in the graphics benchmarks, even on the otherwise-studly old 17". For processor-intensive functions, the new machines reap the performance increases you would expect from the megahertz differences in the processors.
No benchmarks were done of the new 12".
